Coming Home Pictures and Christmas Day Pictures

Okay, there's a lot of pictures, but I'm behind on posting.

First of all, it's a little strange to be holding such a big baby. It took 4 months just for the twins to get into 0-3 month clothing and wasn't into 3-6 months until they were nearly 8 months old. So having a big baby, having to hold her with both arms is different but enjoyable. So far, at 10 days old, she's a good baby. Yes, I'm a bit tired, okay, I'm VERY tired, but thanks to help, I'm getting naps during the day.

but I think he will learn to manage well.

We had a really good Christmas. Rob's parents stayed until just after the baby was born. They were such a great help here before and after the baby was born. So glad they stayed. My mother was here as well, then took the girls to AR for a day to have Christmas there at her house. They enjoyed the trip, seeing "a whole bunch of kids," as Madison says.

Correction

Kaylee was 21" long, instead of 19" like we thought.

It's been another long day. We finally made it home from the hospital. Kaylee may not have been born in an ice or snow storm, but she was brought home in a snow storm! Th'e roads were beginning to get a bit icy by the time we were released to come home, but we made it.

She's a really good baby, doesn't cry much at all. I was really excited when the doctor released her to be with me all night long. Let me tell you, she made up for the past 3 days of not being able to nurse!!! She ate ALL NIGHT LONG! Between her and the benadryl, I was extreemly sleepy the next morning. Benadryl, because I've had a reaction to some adhesive that was used during surgery that's caused a rash all over my stomach.

I best be getting some rest while I can. Thank you all for the congrats and for all your prayers. Rob will post some more pictures from today just as soon as he gets a chance. I'll post when I feel like it. I'm so swollen right now, that my fingers on my right hand are numb! I'm a bit swollen all over!

Some Good News

Kaylee toughened up yesterday and is now off of the oxygen. She is breathing fine and actually started nursing last night. Thank you all for your prayers. I was able to hold her for about 2 hrs which was great. She didn't even cry once. She really loves the ABC song and loves to hold my finger. She was also happy to spend some time with her mommy. Amy just told me this morning that she's able to leave the hospital anytime. There's a good chance her and the baby will come home this evening. If not, they'll most likely be home tomorrow. YEAH!!!! I'll take more pictures today and get them posted either this evening or tomorrow morning. Thanks again for your prayers.

Hello everyone. Sorry for taking so long to get pictures on our blog. Last night was a little crazy. The C-section went well, but it took a little while before I felt comfortable enough to come home and leave the baby in the care of the hospital. I don't have much time now b/c I have to get back and take some items to Amy. Here's the good info:

I'll admit I was a little bummed that we didn't get to hold Kaylee the first night. It was tough enough the first time with the twins, but I know she'll soon be home with us and I'll have my wish.

Labor?

Just maybe! I've had contractions all day today and this evening, they've gotten more frequent! About 5-10 minutes apart. Irregular, but consistant. I'm kind of hoping that the baby is born tomorrow, for it's my late grandfather Dixon's birthday. He was one of a kind that was very dear to my heart.

2 days overdue and still counting. . .

Wow, what a week! The ice storm came and went, the electricity went out for 6 days and came back on today, and STILL NO BABY! The doctor tells me that if I've not had the baby by next Wed. and I've not progressed enough for him to break my water, then I'll be having a c-section on Thursday the 20th. I think with prayers, I shouldn't have a c-section, but whatever the Lord sees fit to be best will be fine with me.

We've had fun with the electricity off though. Our gas fireplace kept the house nice and warm enough we didn't freeze. A gas stove made it nice to keep our tummy's fed, and candle light & oil lamps gave us enough light to play games at night. After the first day, the girls finally stopped asking to watch a movie & no longer asked daddy to fix the lights that wouldn't come on. They got REALLY good at putting puzzles together and stayed busy playing with each other. I must say, I've enjoyed the simplicity of life & will miss our moments together as a family with no electricity.

Well, now that we have electricity and internet again, I just may let Rob take a picture of me overdue and post it. Keep us in your prayers. Rob still has his parents here & my mother is here which has been really nice. We've enjoyed the company and the extra help.

Just An Update. . .

Thought I better post something before I no longer had time to post with a new baby that is soon to come.

We didn't win the contest through womansday, but thank you for all that voted!

Here's a picture of me when I was about 37 weeks. I'm not much bigger now that I'm 39 weeks. My due date is in just about 6 days from now, but there's an ice storm that's predicted to come on Sunday night through Tuesday. I was an ice storm baby along with my brother and sister, then a niece of mine was also an ice storm baby. Seems like all of our winter babies are ice storm babies, so why stop with me, right? I'm sure Rob will post something for me if I don't feel like it, to let everyone know of the birth and to post some pictures.

I took some pictures of the girls with their Christmas dress on. Thanks to Kohl's cash, Aunt Cha Cha and Grandma Montgomery's shopping, we where donated enough money to purchase their dresses this year. Thanks Aunt Cha Cha and Grandma Montgomery for your help! The girls just LOVE the dresses!
