BUMMED!

Rob started classes again this past week. This time around, he's having to go to the school. He has been taking online classes the past few times so he can stay home and I like that much better. Oh well, it's just for 8 more weeks.

I'm so bummed that the weathermen, all of them, faked us out here in OKC! We were suppose to get 3-5 inches of snow and we got NOTHING! If it wasn't for our fence, I would not have even seen the snow that landed on the post as it was flying by. Oh, wait, it did snow heavy for about 30 minutes, but too warm to sick. I think they got the rain and snow inches mixed up! We got nearly an inch of rain to swim in and not enough snow to play in!!!

I knew it, I knew that we should have packed our bags and headed for the NW were 12-16 inches was predicted. Instead, they got 25 inches with snow drifts up to the roof of their house! How I would have loved to play in it with the kids. Maybe next year.

I don't think I really needed to be out in the weather anyway. I've been sick now for a week with a fever. Madison had her round with it and now Kaylee is on day 4 with a fever as well. Hopefully it will all pass soon, very soon. The last time I had a cold, I was sick with a fever for over 3 weeks. I really don't want that to happen again. Besides, we have to prepare for youth convention this weekend.

Youth Convention... it's gonna be great. Always is and I don't expect anything less this year. Our youth is excited about going and I know God is going to touch many people this year.

Before my fever came up again today, I managed to squeeze in a hair cut for myself. I finally got tired for people messing my hair up and me having to pay money for it, so I decided a few hair cuts ago, I would just do it myself. It's not easy! The mirror and angles plays tricks on me. However, after 45 minutes or so, I managed to get it to look better than the salons around here. After all, I did go to school for it, so I should be able to do a decent job on myself.

So now I'm off to eat again, see about doing some more laundry before the kids wake up or maybe just rest - oh, Kaylee just woke up. My body is aching with this fever. I'm just glad I'm not bed ridden with it.

I'm SCARED!

So anyone would know that if a helicopter is flying around in your addition and more than 4 cop cars come in just while I'm paying attention, IT CAN'T BE GOOD! We watched the helicopter fly around for about 15 minutes before it left as I was trying to see if anyone was jumping fences. I figure it was another burglary in our neighborhood. I think out of the 10 homes I see around my house, at least 5 of them have been broke into. That is why we have our alarm set and monitored!!! Seems like these burglars are getting more brave and going in on people while they are home. I think I'm just ready to pack up and move on base!!! I'm awaiting the news to come on to see just what was really happening.

Moving on... I so wish I had my camera. Madison wanted to dress like a clown today. Does anyone remember those cute clown costumes I made a year and half ago? The outfit is getting a little small, but what is really funny is that the girl tucked the dress into the pants, put the little jacket on without a shirt and the pants are now capri's. Looks so funny. Moments like these I wish I had my camera!!!

I just got my purse back and my phone!!! Wow, how I felt like I was on house arrest. No cell phone and locked in my house with the alarm on! A woman needs some sort of outside communication. ha.

On Monday, before the storms came, I gave all the girls a bath. First it was Kaylee who got a bath and fully dressed while the twins were sleeping, then the girls woke up and they got their turn. I admit, when the twins take a bath in my bathtub, I don't watch Kaylee very close while she's watching the girls. When the tub come just below her armpits, I figure she's pretty safe.

The first call I got was from Emma. "MOMMY, KAYLEE!" I run to her attention to hear that Kaylee has splashed water in her eye. Okay, I ask, how did she do that, she can't reach the water? I give a washcloth to wipe her eyes and off I go again. I check on them to have them turn the water off, this time the water is much higher, normal for the girls and off I go again. It's my normal routine to let the girls play. I have a huge tub the girls love playing in. Then the next call I get is from Madison. "MOMMY, KAYLEE! MOMMY, KAYLEE!" Up I run again to the bathroom to see what Kaylee could possible be doing on the outside of the tub. I thought she must be putting things in the tub and the girls didn't think she needed to be doing that. Instead, I find the little girl fully dressed sitting right in the middle of the bathtub playing! How did she do that? Climb in there? I asked who helped her in, and they both said she climbed in herself.

A bit confused I was, I tried to get her out and she threw a fit! I sat her back down just to see what she would do and she got happy again. I was laughing at this point. So I tried again, she threw a fit again. I got her pants off, sat her in the shower to finish undressing her, got her dressed again then tended to the girls. While washing their hair, I just saw how Kaylee got in the tub. That girl can shimmy up a smooth surface and climb right over that big tub! I caught her this time since I was right there. But I have learned my lesson. Don't leave a 15 month old who thinks she's 2 or 3 alone in a bathroom. She's been climbing up to the sink and turning on the water to wash her hands. She's a lot to watch!!!

I've been sick the past few days. Started feeling it on Sunday on our way home. Monday and Tues. was horrible. This time, it's a cold. I didn't sleep well last night and today I'm still not feeling completely well. I wasn't ready to be sick again. I'm just praying that the stomach virus doesn't hit us again. Some of my family was sick over the weekend, sick to their stomach and I've been praying we don't get it.

Well, still no info on the news about all the action around here. I'm really tired, I would really like to rest a while, but I'm sure Kaylee will be waking up soon. Maybe I'll at least try.

I finally called a guy in our neighborhood that lives close to where the action was taking place. Come to find out, a guy was driving a stolen car from a dealership and ended up coming into our addition not knowing there was no outlet. The cops following trapped him, he jumped from the car and ran. Jumped a few fences, picked up a garden hose and acted as if he was watering "his" lawn. The cops arrested him and our neighbor is safe from one less guy now.

One other thing...
I just called my neighbor to talk to her about this morning's event and she says, "Oh, did you see the helicopter about 3 or 4 houses down from you with the spot light on it?" Once she told me the time, I DID hear it, but once I didn't see anything, I didn't think anything else of it. Rob had already gotten home from his Wal-Mart trip with the girls so I wasn't home alone like today.
Come to find out, that helicopter was checking on the railroad tracks just behind our house.

He had an interesting trip to Wal-Mart too. He called me so excited about doing a good deed for someone and immediately I knew what he had done and who it was too. I let him go ahead and tell me and once he got finished and I told him that same person has tried to hit me up twice for money with the same story and he works that parking lot all the time. He asked me how tall he was, I told him, asked me what color he was, I told him, so Rob says, "Humm, well, God will deal with him."

Couples Retreat

Once AGAIN I don't have my camera! My mother forgot to bring it to me. Oh, I suppose another two weeks will do us all good? No, I don't think so. I need my camera! But I have to move on. There's nothing I can do about it now. You just all have to wait even longer to see more pictures.

Couples retreat was really nice. We had Bro. & Sis. Campbell there with us and it was a joy and blessing to have them. I always enjoy getting to visit with other couples, getting to know them better and then spending time in prayer with my husband to grow deeper with each other. The devotions & messages were outstanding and was truly food for our souls.

Emma & Madison staying with Ben & Tabatha and I believe the girls had a great time. I'm not sure about Ben & Tabby, being pregnant with 3 extra kids for 3 days and 2 nights. That's a lot! But we really appreciate them keeping the kids for us. We missed them at the retreat, but since they weren't able to go, we are thankful they were able to keep the kids for us.

We are now home after a very long delayed trip back home. Construction & two accidents will delay anyone. One, close to Tulsa was really bad on the turnpike. A trooper had a 15 passenger van pulled over with several children inside. I suppose the trooper had gotten back in his car when a truck plowed into the back of his car. When I saw the picture of the accident, you wonder how anyone survived. The troopers back bumper was up where the back window was at and the trucks front bumper was nearly where the front wheels are. There's no condition released about the 4 people in the truck, just that there were no fatalities. The trooper is in stable condition and the 2 children in the van had mild injuries.

So we are so thankful to be home safe back with our children minus a purse. Yes, that's right. I left my purse at Olive Garden in Branson and realized it when I woke up over 100 miles down the road! Rob called and they are going to be nice enough to mail my purse to me. If I don't have a diaper bag, I really don't know what to do with a purse!!!

There's a lot that has to be done, all the unpacking from our trip. We are rearing up for another round of storms tonight all night long through the morning time. yea... not too thrilled about that!

It's just 10:15 am and I'm already ready for a nap!!!

Earthquakes?

On March 8th, there was an earthquake felt here in the metro that measured 3.4. I missed it since I was in AR, but Rob said he felt it & woke up, thought someone had hit the house and ran outside to see. So did our friends who got woke up at their home.

Today, as I'm sitting at the computer talking to Rob on the phone, my entire desk shook and the computer shook really bad. I even was shaken a bit in my chair. I literally thought someone had hit our home. Construction worker are at the intersection of our home and I thought maybe someone had made a mistake with the bobcat that's running around out there. Well, nothing hit our home so I called Tabby to see if she felt it too. She did. While I was on the phone to her, there was another shake. I kept checking the earthquake center online to see if anything registered, but nothing after 20 minutes.

FINALLY it had been posted. An earthquake in the Del City area one registering 2.7 and the other at 2.5. Okay folks, that's like 1 mile from my house.

I'm thinking to myself... As if I don't have enough foundation problems, you really think I want to deal with earthquakes shaking my home causing more cracks in my walls and floors? NO!

So, that's our excitement for the day and the girls don't even know they've been in an earthquake. It's not my first, I've felt several while living in AR. I'm just praying that these frequent shakes stop and don't continue.

The Earth is not all that's shaking. I keep forgetting to tell that I've been feeling the baby move. First time was last Wed. and then again on Sat. Little flutters that tickle, it's so neat to already be feeling the baby moving around in there. And no, it's not gas! I know the difference!!! I felt Kaylee really early too. I guess that's one thing I enjoy about pregnancy, feeling the baby move around having life already in my body, growing. Love it.

Garage Play...

It's so nice to be outside today. The sun is shining, it's warm, there's so much that could be done, but NO, the garage is the chosen place for this time. The kids have more room to ride their bike & tricycles without my every watchful eye on them. Kaylee is able to run around and play as well. Although, the garage may not really be the safest place for them??? I suppose there is some harm no matter where you go. After nap time, we'll try to get over to the park.

We got up this morning to take our car back to the shop. Near the end of last summer, the AC went out. Now it's making noise again (sometimes) and it's under warranty. We need our car for this weekend so I'm praying that they'll be able to hear the noise and get it fixed!!! As Rob dropped it off, he tried everything to make it noisy, but there was nothing! He says it's just because we dropped it off. ha ha. I'm just afraid that it will quit on us during our long trip this weekend.

That would be to Branson. I know, again. But this time, it's for couples retreat. We are really excited. Bummed that Tabatha and Ben can't make it, but thrilled that they are willing and able to watch the kids for us so my mom and dad can go as well.

Sure enjoyed my mother being here to visit with me. I finally got my kitchen floor mopped with her here. That's because she did it for me, along with doing my laundry. She's a great mom!!! I'm already trying to talk her into coming back after couples retreat, and then we could take her to the youth convention in order for her to go home. That's just two weeks apart from each other. I don't mind spending time with her.

We had a good revival. Some great messages were preached. Wish we could have spent more time with my family while they were here, but was unable to.

Hummm... what else??? Pregnancy? Going okay. I'm doing good most days. I still get sick at least once a day most days, but feel pretty good afterwards for the most part. There are some days that I'm just not myself at all. Just over 14 weeks now and so many more weeks to go. The gestational diabetes seems to be not as bad this time around. I thank God for that! We've been praying and I'm don't even think it's been high at all the past month. I even had a strawberry shortcake the other day and just over 2 hours later, I checked my sugar and it was REALLY good. With the other two, I would have been about 60 higher than my max I should be at. I really think the Lord has touched me in this area and it's helping me to feel a lot better. I do still watch what I eat and keep it low sugar, but when I do have something that would normally spike my sugar up and it doesn't, then I am thankful.

Kaylee is being really funny. She can get in a full run now and she's quick. She's almost 15 months and thinks she's going on 3. She still doesn't talk much. She says momma for everyone and ouwie (good luck on that spelling for ouch) when she's hurt or in trouble. She has a LOT of sign language and knows what she wants. She keeps up with the girls very well and the girls are good to play with her.

The twins can't decide if they are big or small. "Because we are 4 now," they think they are old enough to watch certain war movies, and they think they are big enough to walk through the store by themselves, but Emma still thinks she is still too small to wipe herself. When she was three, she was big enough, now she's four and she's not???

We've moved from being sleepy to eyes being tired and instead of taking a nap, we now rest our eyes. They are a mess and joy to be around.

I've rambled on enough that I'll call it quits now. I'm just waiting for the girls to go to sleep (get their eyes rested) so I can take a nap too!!! Hope everyone has a great day.

More Hair Cuts & More Stuff...

The night I cut Madison's hair, she said, "But Mommy, I didn't want all my hair cut off." Tear filled her eyes and this sad puppy face that melts any ones heart came over her. I think she was more scared that I was going to be upset since I carried on so when she decided to take the scissors to her own hair. I reassured her that we all liked her hair. I just didn't know how much I would like it.

She woke up the next morning with very little bed head!!! She's the worst when it comes to waking up with tangles all in her hair. I was thrilled that there was only one little tangle!

Emma was still set on not cutting her pretty long hair. She has good hair, hardly ever any tangles.

The girls and I all left Friday morning for AR to attend a funeral of a dear family friend that was like family. The trip was pretty easy, took us about 7 hours. Rob wasn't able to go with us with work he had to do and schooling he had to finish. The funeral was nice and it's so much easier to go through one knowing that a person is saved.

After the funeral, my nieces hit me up for haircuts. I had 3 done then Emma pulled a big one on me. She at first at our home, was telling me she did want her hair cut, but only a little bit. NOW she's telling she wants her hair like Madison's! I asked about 8 times before I finally cut it. It's really cute. I'm always afraid on the first hair cut, not knowing how it's really going to lay. Then I cut my moms hair. 5 hair cuts that evening and my feet were sore!!! There were more that needed cut, some of the boys, but if they don't wash their hair, then they don't get a hair cut from me!

I brought my mom home with me. We are in revival this week with my Uncle and I knew she could at least get back to AR. She may not make it home, but somebody will come get her where ever she's dropped off at. I was excited about posting Emma's picture of her hair, I got some cute ones. So off to the van I went to get the camera that I had "left in the van" and then realized, I LEFT MY CAMERA AT MOM & DAD'S HOUSE! I'm really bummed. But, just look at Madison's hair cut again, with Emma's face pictured in it, and that's her hair cut.

I'll have my camera back in about 2 weeks, so I'll work on getting the picture up then. I had even taken a picture of me at 13 weeks to post after I got back home. So sorry, you'll all have to wait now.

Yesterday was Rob's 32nd birthday. I didn't see much of him. First he was off to work, come home for a short time while I was out buying him things and then off to church we went while he had some important dinner date with a visiting general. The 30 minutes we did get to spend with him was nice. I picked up a ballon, some cards, and some birthday donuts from Krispy Kreme. I had each of the girls to take him something while they sang to him. He was smiling from ear to ear.

I think a nap is calling me. I've been tired ever since I woke up. Didn't sleep too well last night. I have a babysitter in the house now (mom) and I think I'm going to take advantage of it today before we leave to visit with my aunt & uncle before church.

Madison's Hair Cut...

I finally broke down and couldn't take the uneven hair cut that Madison had given herself last summer. Her hair had gown out enough to give her a bob and although I know I'm going to miss her hair, at least I won't cringe every time I see her hair now.

Okay, I know she looks pretty pathetic here and looks all sad, but she's really happy with her haircut. After sitting for so long, she got really tired.

The last 3 weeks...

Wow, I know, it's been some time since I've blogged, but hey, I have an excuse.

I'm going to do my best to keep this short and sweet since so many weeks are being covered.

So we started out in Mtn. View (with no internet) and sent my parents off to Branson, MO for the first vacaton they have ever had alone. I suppose after 40 some years of marriage and now tending to most the grandkids, they needed a break. I'm glad we were able to give it to them.

I think one day we had 12 kids at the house. I ended up watching a couple more for a friend while her father was in the hospital. All the kids were outstanding and did so well. Who would have thought?

While in AR, the girls wanted to share their birthday party with family and friends. We invited some other kids we know and then a couple days later told them they may not want to come. Daniel had the stomach virus and was getting over it when we arrived to AR, then my niece Blakely got sick on Saturday & Sunday with the virus. The only kids that ended up being there were the cousins that have already been exposed to the sickness all week long. We had a good time anyway. We did have a couple extra adults to show up.

Emma wanted a princess cake and Madison wanted a Tinker Bell cake. Well... I'm not paying for two cakes and spending twice the money! No way! I made a deal with Madison. We'd get a princess cake since I KNEW we could get that and I would get Tinker Bell plates and head bands. That seemed to work. Then I started to panic when I was searching for a princess cake in a town of 2600 people! HA Good luck! One grocery store and the smallest Super Wal-Mart known to man. I had already picked up the Tinker Bell things, so all I needed was that cake. I called to check on a cake at the one grocery store and I barely made it in time to put my order in. Talking about close! It all turned out good and the kids just loved it. Very good cake by the way.

We saw a kid take the first bite out of their birthday cake. When I told the family what we had seen, they were all for the girls doing it too. All the kids started chanting, "Bite it, bite it, bite it." So the girls dug in.

I think they enjoyed taking the first piece of the cake at the same time. And yes, they did get that corner they bit off of.

The following Monday, Rob and I left all the kids at Nana & Papaw's since they had their time of rest and we went on a vacation of our own to Branson for a few days. No pictures of that trip, but it was great to get away for a little while with no kids.

We came home for a day before we were off again with Rob on a TDY to San Antonio, TX. It was great to be with him while he had to be away.

We went down to the river walk and the ONLY picture I got was with some mexicans that sang us a song for the girls. We had to pay $6 for the one song!!! Rip off, but fun.

One day that Rob had off, we ventured out to the Children's Museum downtown. They kids really enjoyed it. I think we spent nearly 3 hours in their where they were able to venture around and experience new things.

Then we walked to the Alamo not know the history behind it. We learned as we were there. Now Rob wants to study it out.

So it was a busy day, and most of my days were busy with the kids even though we were in a hotel room while Rob was gone.

So I wonder how Rob & I both not realize that Kaylee has pudding trying to eat it and not doing a very good job at it??? Not sure, but it made for a cute picture. At least it wasn't all over the wall!!!

Madison and Emma got some V-Tech game for their birthday. This night, I was showing them how to send pictures to one anonther.

Once we made it back home, I was sick for 4 days with the whole pregnancy stuff. Finally this past Tues I started to feel better and Wed. was like a whole new day for me! I've made it to 13 weeks!!! I'm beginning to get a little belly bulge and some of my clothes are REALLY tight now. I'm just about ready to move on to maternity clothes. I'll work on getting a picture out there next week. The heartrate of the baby was 160 during my appointment, so I'm guessing we are having another girl. ha. We'll find out in about 5 weeks what we are having.

First, I'll be going to AR again this weekend for a funeral of a close friend of the family. I'll be bringing my mother home with me so she'll be here for our revival and then she'll catch a ride back home with her sister & brother-in-law who is holding the revival for us.
